Job Description

About the opportunity 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse with extensive General Practice experience to undertake the role of Practice Nurse Coordinator at the Lara Medical Centre.  The successful candidate will contribute to the enhancement and quality of integrated health care delivery through the provision of clinical guidance and strategic nursing leadership. The role is permanent part time, working 32 hours per week inclusive of 8hours for administration.

About you

As the ideal candidate, you’ll need to demonstrate the following skills and experience.

Mandatory

  • Must hold and maintain Nursing registration, minimum Div 1 (Minimum of 5 years’ experience)
  • Relevant Post graduate qualification
  • Must hold and maintain AHPRA Registration
  • Appropriate credentialing and competence ie. CPR, immunisation, infection control.
  • Experienced Leader in supervision, team development and mentoring/coaching experience.
  • Excellent communication, with strong verbal/written skills; ability to lead meetings and collaborate with General Practitioners and Practice Managers
  • Compliance Knowledge – RACGP Standards, Medicare billing, privacy, and documentation requirements.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Strength in building patient, co-worker and stakeholder relationships

Highly desirable

  • Further education in nursing or associated skills
  • Experience in a primary health care setting
  • Strategic Focus with evidence of Quality Improvement Initiatives, accreditation, nurse-led initiatives.
  • Member of a professional body e.g. APNA
  • Systems – Proficiency in medical practice software programs e.g. Best Practice
