Job Description

We have an opening for an experienced Network Engineer to join our Technology Infrastructure team. This is an ongoing role based in our head office with hybrid working options.

About the opportunity 
The Cloud and Data Centre Network Engineer supports, designs, delivers, configures, maintains, and continually improves the IT infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, cloud and hyperconverged platforms, network switching, firewalls, and load balancers. The cloud and datacentre network engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our advanced network architecture, including Microsoft Azure cloud networking. This role will ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance for our cloud services and datacentre operations.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

You’ll need to demonstrate the following skills and experience

 

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant area i.e., Business Information Systems, Computer Science or by substantial relevant work experience combined with industry and/or vendor certifications.
  • At least 5+ years’ experience in managing, configuring, enhancing, and maintaining complex networking environments or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • At least 3+ years building, developing, and optimising Cloud Infrastructure & Wintel network technologies across various IaaS & PaaS based services.
  • Strong expertise in Networking Infrastructure technologies such as:

SD-WAN (HP Aruba)
Firewalls (Palo Alto)
Switching (HP Aruba and Dell)
IPAM (ClearPass)
Application Load Balancers (Kemp)
Microsoft Azure Networking

  • High competency with network architecture, configuration, and deployment
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and principles (VLAN, segmentation, ACLs, routing, VPN, BGP and routing protocols, layers, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP)
  • VMware NSX micro segmentation design and implementation
  • Design and management of Azure resources, virtual network resources
  • On-premises cloud technologies such as VMware
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Azure & 365 Cloud services
  • Azure DevOps pipeline development and maintenance
  • Certifications

ITIL V4
Aruba ClearPass CPE
Aruba CX


Highly desirable

  • Other network administration qualifications (Aruba/Cisco/Palo Alto Etc)
  • Experience in Network automation & Software Defined Networking (SDN) is highly advantageous.
